So a couple years ago while I was painting away and tired of having Netflix on in the background or music playing, I suddenly had this thought of "I wonder if there's something more productive or motivational I could be listening to right now than Grey's Anatomy?" I mean, Meredith's monologues at the beginning are great but I was looking for something more. And all of a sudden I thought of podcasts. I must have been living under a rock because podcasts were already HUGE at this point. So I wandered into the podcast player on my iPad and found a few that looked good and I was hooked! It has been such a game changer for me. I love hearing people talk about personal growth strategies and how to improve their businesses and just listening to people's stories. I almost always have a podcast playing while I'm working, driving or working out. So I wanted to share a few of my favorites with you guys and I'd love to hear some of your favorites to listen to.
OK, if you've been hanging around our social media the last couple months you might notice that I LOVE Rachel Hollis! I read her first book Girl Wash Your Face, loved her message and found the podcast. This is a daily listen for me. It's a bit of personal growth strategies, a bit of business and a bit of family stuff.
So if you love Rachel Hollis, you'll also love her and her husband Dave's podcast all about relationships. They cover all kinds of topics like how to run a business together, how to work out together and just how to navigate life things together as a couple.
Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard is like my break from the personal growth and business talk. Sometimes you need something a little lighter. Dax and his co-host Monica interview celebrities and experts in his attic studio in a low key just hanging out style. Some of my favorite episodes were where they interviewed Ashton Kutcher, Seth Rogan and Mila Kunis.
This was actually the very first podcast I started listening to. Lori is a former fitness model, author and personal growth and business entrepreneur. She focuses on personal growth, business growth, fitness and health as well as how to create your own tribe of supportive and motivating women. She often interviews other experts and I love listening to her upbeat attitude.
So if you've ever watched The Minimalists documentary on Netflix, these are the same guys. We've taken a more minimalist approach in our life and they offer great advice on more than just getting rid of all of your stuff. They explain how they live a more meaningful life with less and how to navigate things like Christmas gift giving without accumulating a ton of stuff.
3 Bonus Podcasts
Here are 3 more podcasts I listen to occasionally.
Let me know in the comments what podcasts you're loving these days!
